Charis Georgiou

I’m Charis.

I’m building a startup to help automate our supply chains for materials and resources.

In my daily life, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and a good argument.

I spent the first 18 years of my life in my beautiful home country, Cyprus, where I went to public school, served in the military, and fell in love with mathematics and computer science. I then spent a few wonderful years at MIT, trying to learn as much theory as I could and apply it to solving problems in the physical world, before coming to appreciate the bitter lesson and realizing that the change I wanted to help bring about would take me outside the lab. I was fortunate enough to be advised by Ron Rivest and work with Luca Carlone, who brought me and my co-founders together.

Now, as part of my work building Minoic, I’m interested in what will happen when machines can do our physical work, the multiplicative effects this could have on humanity’s resources, and the hard problem of navigating that change as a society, with everyone benefiting.
